The Zenhaven is also flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may prove helpful if you’re not sure what you choose or if your requirements change over time. This is not a traditionally soft mattress, but it uses a flexible cushion, good edge support, and a subtle springiness.
These mattresses were also evaluated in our group tests carried out for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam mattresses and the finest innerspring mattresses. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I’ve interviewed scores of experts in the bed mattress market and in materials science; visited dozens of mattress display rooms, factories, and shops; and pored over the fine print on requirements, service warranties, and return policies.
Understanding Saatva Saatva’s portfolio of beds– many with an option of firmness levels and dealing with practically every comfort choice– includes: Saatva Classic ( innerspring).
Loom & Leaf ( all foam).
Zenhaven ( all latex).
Saatva Latex Hybrid ( latex with coils).
Solaire ( a bed with adjustable air chambers). Saatva Zero Gravity
Saatva HD ( a latex-coil hybrid developed for sleepers who weigh 300 to 500 pounds).
Saatva Youth ( a foam-coil hybrid for kids ages 3 through 12).
We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brands. We do know that the business uses thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and only organic cotton (rather of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress business, Saatva promotes such additionals as zoned layers for “optimal spinal column assistance”; we’re less pleased with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and durable foams and coils.
